How to Play Solitaire - A Step-by-Step Guide

Solitaire is a classic single-player card game that has entertained players for generations. It is easy to learn but requires strategic thinking to master. Below is a simple guide on how to play solitaire.

Objective of Solitaire

The main goal is to move all cards to the foundation piles, organized by suit and in ascending order (Ace to King). You should aim to create four foundation piles by the end of the game.

Game Setup

1. Use a standard 52-card deck. Shuffle the cards well.
2. Deal the cards into seven tableau columns:
   • The first column has 1 card, the second has 2, and so on until the seventh has 7 cards.
   • The top card of each column is face-up, while the others remain face-down.
3. Set aside the remaining cards as the stock pile.

Gameplay Rules

1. Build sequences within the tableau in descending order (King to Ace), alternating colors (e.g., black and red).
2. Move cards or sequences of cards between tableau columns to reveal hidden cards.
3. When an Ace appears, move it to the foundation to start building a pile for that suit.
4. If you can’t make moves in the tableau, draw cards from the stock pile one at a time. Playable cards can be placed in the tableau or the foundation.
5. Empty tableau columns can only be filled with a King or a sequence starting with a King.

Winning the Game

The game is won when all cards are successfully transferred to the foundation piles, organized by suit from Ace to King.

Tips for Beginners

• Try to reveal as many hidden tableau cards as possible.
• Avoid drawing from the stock pile unless you are out of moves.
• Plan your moves ahead to uncover as many cards as possible.
